Winter Eyes

Frozen winter eyes
peeking through my window
Gray and colorless lies
the previous
season's rainbow

A withering summer thought
slowly thaws away
like a butterfly
trapped and caught
'twill last for just one day

Ancient
summer bloom
dried up
to be forgotten
fills up my
winter room
soothes me like
silk and cotton.

Frozen snowy ice
outside my winter window
dry but colorful lies
my last summer's meadow.
